All Australian States have a segment on health in the school curriculum. This is often difficult to teach. We have developed web based courses that match the high school curriculum that can be done by students in class on a personal computer. Each lesson uses an illustrated story line to carry the message coupled with printed material and class exercises that teachers can use.

Courses in stress for year 8 and anxiety management for year 9 are available. The course for depression will be available in late 2007. The stress course has been shown to improve coping and reduce distress, with benefits observable at follow up. A course in alcohol use is available for year 8. It has been shown to improve attitudes to drinking and reduce binge drinking in girls with the benefits evident one year after the lessons. A course in cannabis is currently under test and a course in psychoactive drugs is in preparation.

See www.climateschools.tv for sample lessons and access to the courses. Climate schools is initially free to schools. Continuing use costs $1 per child per course of lessons.
