The Clinical Research Unit for Anxiety and Depression (CRUfAD) is a joint facility of the University of New South Wales and St Vincents Hospital in Sydney Australia, and had been classified as a World Health Organisation (WHO) Collaborating Centre in e-health. WHO Collaborating Centres are concerned with epidemiology and health policy, whereas the UNSW School of Psychiatry has strong research interests in anxiety and depression.

The anxiety and depressive disorders are the commonest mental disorders and generate the majority of the burden of disease attributed to mental disorders. While effective treatments exist, in most countries coverage is low, clinician competence variable and patient compliance poor.

It is no wonder that the burden of anxiety and depression persists. This web page is a contribution to improving this state of affairs.
